In this case, it makes sense considering there’s no The Crew or Splinter Cell title coming anytime soon from the little bits of information Ubisoft has given so far. It’s definitely unfortunate for those holding out for a new Splinter Cell , one of Ubisoft’s most demanded-to-return franchises, but the aforementioned lineup does sound promis
That being said, it’s hard to tell what the immediate future looks like for Far Cry , but if Schreier’s comments are correct as they were for Valhalla , a few things could happen. Mainly, Far Cry could be still be slated for the usual springtime release window like the last few iterations. The indefinite delays for Watch Dogs , Rainbow Six, and Gods and Monsters may see their releases spliced between one another during the summer and the beginning of autumn. Ubisoft obviously doesn’t want any of their franchises competing with one another, especially with an Assassin’s Creed game slated for holid
On the flip side, Ghost Recon: Breakpoint ‘s struggling state may have strongly affected Ubisoft’s core franchises in big ways. Breakpoint received plenty of criticisms for microtransactions , repetitive gameplay, and several other issues. If critical gameplay adjustments need to be made to Ubisoft’s other franchises as a result, it’s possible Far Cry 6 could receive a circumstantial delay. No doubt it would be a difficult decisions, but Ubisoft would likely be hesitant to delay Watch Dogs or Rainbow Six any further than the publisher already has. So, considering Far Cry 6 hasn’t even been announced, development may need to be slowed down or halted to divert resources to more pressing franchi
Of course that would be conjecture if it weren’t for Jason Schreier, formerly of Kotaku, stating that Far Cry was among the Ubisoft’s release slate for this year. There were plenty of Far Cry 6 rumors flying around the internet prior to Schreier’s comments on Twitter, but his voice carries plenty of weight throughout the game industry. Considering he was right about Assassin’s Creed Valhalla being one of the five aforementioned AAA games eventually revealed and its viking theme, Far Cry is likely on the way as w
Obviously there’s other examples like Ghost Recon or Just Dance that are powerhouse franchises for Ubisoft, but they’re unlikely to take their place. Additionally, Jason Schreier from Kotaku chimed in to confirm that fifth game was not Beyond Good & Evil 2 or Skull & Bones . Schreier cited some development troubles for Skull Bones delaying the game severely, as well as Beyond Good & Evil 2 still not being far enough in developm
This shouldn’t be surprising for anyone, as these are some of Ubisoft’s largest titles, and AC: Ragnarok has been rumored for quite some time now. This is the first real mention of Far Cry 6 , though, even if it’s no less surprising. The real question now is what Far Cry 6 will look like, considering the franchise has perfected a formula of an interesting backdrop alongside an interesting vill
I likely spent about 20 hours in the game, and I would reckon that only 4 or 5 of those were in substantive story missions. Outside of that, most the game consisted of me doing Far Cry stuff: picking off enemies, building out an arsenal, and generally exploring the beautiful nuclear-tinted wasteland of Hope County. If you find yourself a fan of the Far Cry formula and are looking for a cathartic experience to sink your teeth into, this will certainly scratch that i
Vaas represented a pivotal shift in Far Cry 6 Map|Https://Farcry6Zone.Com/ Cry ‘s narrative structure that served to transform the series into something much more insane. Actors often like to have fun with AMAs and interviews as such, but occasionally tease things that could be true. The way its written seems more of a joke than anything, but it wouldn’t be the first time an actor has hinted at a possible return. Vaas returning to Far Cry 6 may even mean the next game is a sequel to Far Cry 3 as well. Considering how iconic Vaas has become for the franchise since its third iteration, his return would be interesting considering he presumably died at the end of Far Cry
Giving buddies a heightened role in the main story justified their existence as characters, instead of just being hired help. Far Cry 6 should iterate on the foundation that Far Cry 5 ‘s buddy system has established , whilst including elements of Far Cry 2 ‘s buddy system. The buddies/specialists in Far Cry 5 all had unique combat abilities and skills that assisted the player throughout the game, but in the end buddies only acted in service to the player. Integrating them into the storyline like Far Cry 2 did would enhance their purposes in the story, justifying their usage throughout the playthro
Overall, it seems Ubisoft has been casting a wide net to determine where the Far Cry franchise could go next. That being said, the next entry may be coming within the next year, as late as spring of 2021 according to Ubisoft’s fiscal year release schedule. Far Cry 6 may even be a potential sequel or set in the same universe as Far Cry 3 assuming Michael Mando is being more coy than playful. Or the game may go even further outside the box than usual and explore something completely new. Summer’s gaming events should give us some more concrete i
